Community Development is a broad term applied to the practices and academic disciplines of civic leaders, activists, involving citizens and professionals to improve various aspects of local communities.
Community development seeks to empower individuals and groups of people by providing them with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities. These skills are often created through the formation of large social groups to work in coordination for a common agenda. Community developers must understand about how to work with individuals and how well to affect communities positions within the context of larger social institution networks.
We have a big task on hand as there are a countless number of job titles for Community Development. We as the activists and workers being part of our voluntary or non-governmental organisation, Vishwa Gramodaya would be keen to take Community Development work in a big way and also entice funds for the purpose as provided by the Government and by independent grant making bodies.
We would be keen to adopt schools, start home for the aged, orphans, destitutes etc. and also create Health care centers.
